Role of human-origin probiotics in amelioration of aging-related comorbidities.
This study aims to investigate the role of unique, safe and well characterized probiotics in improvements of aging-related co-morbidities like obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular dysfunctions. This project is testing hypothesis that human-origin probiotics reduces leaky gut and inflammation by beneficially modulating gut microbiome. Mechanistically, these human origin probiotics promotes production of beneficial metabolites such as short chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate and butyrate) to ameliorate these functions.
